Cradling Hearts

Your beautiful heart,
Thumping against my hand, against my chest,
The best thing I could cherish, like a priceless diamond,
Even in my most helpless moment I will look to my hand,
and as long as I have your heart, I will stand.
Walking through a never ending forest,
Fire falls from the sky, animals try to kill me,
But I hold you heart from them all.
They can't get it even if they pry and break each finger,
I will still grasp it.

I know there are obstacles that lie ahead,
And there are many words swirling around in my head,
Saving the words that I never said for you,
With every breath there's nothing I wouldn't do,
To show you how much I love you.

Both our worlds collided and we made a world of our own,
We feel like we have known each other in a past life,
Constructed down to the stitch:

Made to love,
made to hold,
made to dance,
made to sing-
Together.

Your touch is a healing sting that devours the loneliness, a mouse to a lion,
Easy to see things through your eyes,
Skies open up when your eyes light up,
Sighs of happiness fill the air when I hug you,
I'm cradling your heart and your cradling mine,
So close to my chest, it is my heart.
